Basic information and a few myths on gutter cleaning... 

We receive hundreds of calls every year from home owners stating problems with their gutters. The problems range from water overflowing and running over the gutters, running behind the gutters, spilling onto other parts of the house or ground below. About 90% of the calls could have been avoided with a simple gutter cleaning.

Gutters generally clog at the outlet to the downspout.  The actual downspout is usually not clogged.  Take a look at the “Kitchen Sink” video above for a representation of this phenomenon..

If you think of your kitchen sink you'll understand how gutters clog. First, picture the sink as your gutter and the drain as the outlet. Run water and watch it go down the drain. Now partially cover the drain with a bowl, cup, dish, etc and watch the sink begin to fill as the drain can't keep up with the water flow. Remove the dish from the drain and insert the stopper. Now the drain is "clogged" and water has no where to go but over the sink and onto the kitchen floor. Lastly, remove the stopper and watch the water roll down the drain. Many customers have followed us around the house and watched this occur. Gallons of water can be sitting in your gutters just waiting for the clog to be removed. Over time, the water will weigh down the gutters and pull away from the fascia boards, rot windows and doors, stain siding and trim, etc. All could have been avoided by keeping the gutters free and clear of debris.

Residential Gutter Cleaning

We keep things simple by providing you a timely and tidy gutter cleaning service. All you have to do is call and schedule the appointment, make payment arrangements and come home to clean gutters. We'll come by, remove the leaves and debris, clear the downspouts and provide you a receipt for your records.

Commercial Gutter Cleaning

Houses aren't the only gutters in need of cleaning. Apartment buildings, townhouses, hotels and commercial buildings all deserve the same treatment as the gutters on your home. Clogged gutters on one of these structures could result in damage to multiple units. If you're a resident in an association or multiple unit complex ask your property manager to give us a call.

Gutter cleanings are usually performed twice a year between May 15-June 15 and Nov 15-Dec 15th. We make things easy by not requiring you to be home for these services. However, if there is a specific day and time in these dates that works best for you, feel free to call and schedule an appointment. You will be notified one week prior to the date of service and payment arrangements will be made by leaving a check at your residence (front or rear door) or pre-paying with a credit / debit card. When paying by check, please make payable to Mind in the Gutter.
